Chaco-Born On the River In 1989, a Colorado rafting guide had a vision: To create the ultimate footwear for outdoor adventures in and out of water. He gave it a symbol — the gecko — because of their ability to adapt and thrive in nearly any environment. Then he gave it a name, Chaco. I have flat feet and more pronation on one foot, which is to say I have an uneven gait which has caused a host of minor feet/ankle issues over the years. What works best for me are my standard, light-weight Brooks shoes, but I have wanted to relieve my feet of shoes for years and never found sandals that are -comfortable for walks/running errands, durable, and good-looking, all at the same time! I read rave reviews of the Chaco ZCloud, and bought those first, but they were too heavy and the arch was hurting my flat foot quite a bit. I decided to break them in and thought I'll get used to the weight, but even after a month I didn't, so I returned them, and decided to give the Zvolves a try. The Zvolves are MUCH lighter, the straps are higher quality (or at least better looking) and the arch isn't as high, which doesn't make feel like my sandal is stabbing me throughout my walk.Have had mine for 3 months now, and absolutely love them. Also, they look super cute!Love the adjustable fit. Great arch support. My feet don't get tired from walking. They are great pool and beach shoes because it's still easy to swim while wearing them, provided you've tightened the straps accordingly. Dry fast. Durable. Easy to clean! Love!I bought these sandals for a 2 week Italy trip so I’d have an option besides sneakers all the time. They’re great! Shockingly comfortable for serious walking. And they even look stylish!I have toes so long, sandals usually don’t fit because my toes hang over the front (weird, I know). If you’re like me, these fit! I’m a size 11, but they’re starting to make 11’s smaller, so I was nervous, but these worked out!Pros: They fitStraps are adjustableI have hip problems and over pronation, and these are the only shoes that have helped. I can walk for miles without hip pain.I have been able to get rid of my sock tan because I don’t rely on tennis shoes 100% of the time.Cons: they are not soft or smooth. I think I got calluses on my feet while breaking them in.Adjustable straps are nice, but it’s really hard to find the right fit. I’ve had them a while and still haven’t gotten it right. I get a blister on my right foot. These are fabulous. I did a 14K walk over Mam Tor and the Great Ridge straight out of the box… my legs ached the next day but not my feet!I’ve always had Merrells but had to look far and wide for a replacement with a similar toe loop as I’ve worn through the fabric they’re putting on the latest models. Absolutely love these.., the toe loop seems to stop my feet sliding about.I have some nephropathy from a medical treatment. These sandals are exquisitely comforting. I am able to wear these for hrs. I like the design, which is compositionally harmonious, and subtle. A graceful femme appearance for a sport sandal. Mine are the black, with a white "fleck" design. These have functioned well on a fairly flat trail I frequently visit. If I were to choose 1 pr of sandals from my closet as the only pair, I would choose these.I find the basic z chacos like this the most comfortable. I was trying to get a similar shoe to what I've been wearing for the last 7 years but in a different color. The gray version of this shoe looks exactly like the ones I already own. Upon arrival, the only difference I can tell (other than the color which I purposefully chose to be different) is that the strap's fabric seems thinner. It doesn't change fit or comfort, but time will tell if the thin straps last as long.I worn this same style before and they lasted 3 years. Most comfortable shoes ever. This was my first pair of Chaco's after hearing multiple recommendations from my American friends who raved about them . I have size 5.5 feet and was not sure which size to buy (5 or 6). After looking at the sizing guide I chose the size 5, which work well. The straps offer plenty of adjustment for my feet, and I tuck any leftover strap back into the sandal so they don't get dirty. At first these shoes will make your feet sore, so don't immediately go for a long walk. Slowly break them in. After a couple weeks I have become enamored with the comfort they offer. They are my favorite shoes to wear. I have taken them hiking up a mountain and they did quite well, except for some shale bits which had a tendency to get stuck under my feet. I have washed them once since they acquired some lake water smell after wearing them on a weekend lake vacation. Overall a fantastic shoe which I hope will last quite a few years. This is my second pair of this style of Chaco and I love them. I am a swim coach and where them on deck 25 hours a week. I don't slip and they give me super support. Plus they look really pretty.Love love love these sandals... sooo happy.. and so are my feetHaven’t done much real hiking in them yet, but they’re really comfortable so farI love my sandals. They are so comfortable. I will buy another pair
