Mephisto Women's Minoa Comfortable Walking Sandals - Lightweight & Supportive for Travel, Beach & Everyday Wear

I have the worst left foot and had bunion surgery 4 months ago to try to fix some of my pains. Now I have complications from surgery like metarsalgia and ankle pain and have been on a major hunt for some cute shoes with a little bit of heel because I am a very short 4'10" young petite lady that has been wearing gym shoes for months! Time to find some shoes now that I am on the mend and can tolerate small heels (but only if they are comfortable!). I bought these shoes just to "see" what mephistos are all about. My podiatrist actually recommended this brand if I wanted to wear heels. I looked it up and literally scoffed at the price and discarded the thought of even trying these. Who pays $270 for shoes??? Not me! Even spending $185 for Naot Mystery sandals had me crying (but turned out so worth it!). Those Naot Mysterys were the highest priced shoe I had bought in my life! So in come these black Mephisto Minoa sandals that I would just "try" with no intention of keeping. Short story, these arrived and I "tried" them. "Tried" turned into "keep." "Keep" turned into order another color. Sigh... So yes, these sandals are the most comfortable sandal I have tried to date. After searching for a long time, I found the brand that works best with my terrible foot. Just wish Mephisto would have more of their cuter, younger styles in size 5 =(. While these Minoa sandals are not terrible looking, they are a bit matronly with the larger straps. Too bad Mephisto Batida doesn't even seem to come in size 5 anywhere. I have been converted and will continue to look out for new cute Mephistos that hopefully come in my small size.I am a huge mephisto fan and wanted a pair of dressy sandals for travel to wear with skirts. The straps are a sparkly white with jewel like studds, so they look dressy. Velcro tabs on both front and ankle straps make the fully adjustable, I have narrow feet and appreciate this. However, compared to the normal less stylish mephistos, the front soles are more flexible and have just a little less cushion and there really isn't an arch support. The wedge gives a bit of arch support, but not fully. I liked them and can wear them a long time, but for high mileage walking, I still defer to my other mephistos with the cork layer and hard sole. But these are definitely dressier and good for everyday use.These sandals are a bit different from the usual sandals that I choose but I decided to try them because of the great price for a Mephisto and because of my love for Mephisto sandals. I haven't had a chance to wear them yet but I have walked around in the house wearing them. They feel super comfortable and the little wedge heel adds to the comfort of not having pressure put on the heel. They feel light and cushiony. They adjust in both straps so they will fit a lot of foot widths. The finish has some gleam to it and there are sweet little rhinestones in four places. They really add to the fun and make this sandal go beyond the common. These sandals will go well with jeans as well as shorts or skirts. I wear a size 8 1/2 and occasionally a nine and in these I chose the nine (which is 39 in European) and they are a perfect fit. I have never been disappointed in Mephistos for long wearing comfort.this shoe is truly beautiful and the footbed is nicely padded, and that's why i gave it 2 stars instead of 1. Everything else is wrong with this shoe. There is no arch support whatsoever. I have to add slight arch support to many shoes (some exceptions are: 1 pair of Allegrias i have and 1 pair of Cobb HIlls). However, with this shoe i need more than slight arch support, i would have had to to find a moderately sized arched pad to glue into it. Also, the shoe is not designed in such a way that one's weight is balanced on the heel, as well made shoes should be. even though the heel is only moderate height, my weight is pitched forward in these shoes, making them too uncomfortable for long or frequent wear. I am very picky and analytic about shoes. But i will buy expensive shoes if they look great and are good quality. I consider these to be poor quality due to the design. I returned them.Expensive but great quality and comfort. I’ve worn them into the ground. They are my go-to shoes for vacations when I’m walking a lot but still want to look nice.I purchased these sandals for an up-coming business trip to New Orleans. I will be doing a lot of walking around the city when I'm not in meetings and wanted a comfortable heeled sandal to wear. This sandal is light weight and extremely comfortable. My only complaint is that there is snow on the ground in Wisconsin where I live and I cannot wear them here, yet.I also like that these sandals are stylish. I do not want to sacrifice fashion for comfort and many "comfort" shoes and sandals look dowdy. These are more fashionable.I knew this shoes would fit as expected. I have another pair in Camel and every time I wear the Mephisto Minoa I have great comments on it, especially the Iris blue. I think I'm the only one that has this color locally as I've never seen this color sold in any stores.these shoes are really cute and comfortable. I wear a size 9 and initially ordered a 39 which was too small. the 40 fits perfectly. I can walk on these all day when traveling and in airports - they are insanely comfortable and are holding up really well
